On Linux every call opened /proc/self/maps and scanned it line by line with sscanf. Unity titles call it on each stack walk, and with about 900 mappings God of War Sons of Sparta (PPSA28997) spent most of its main thread there. The covering mapping is now asked of the kernel with PROCMAP_QUERY (Linux 6.11), on one descriptor opened once, as GuestMemory does; older kernels and APS5_NO_PROCMAP_QUERY keep the line scan.		2026-10-10 22:50:46 -03:00
