morluto f6905719c3 fix(browser): bound capture work and preserve observation gaps
Own service-worker CDP registrations and retry failed teardown. Admit redaction and network metadata against remaining capture capacity, retain explicit omission reasons, and preserve source URL, redirect ancestry, caller-selected content, and historical capture values. Forward CLI cancellation through provider cleanup.

Reviewed fixes: #2263, #2637, #2767, #2845, #2859, #2863, #2872, #2874, #2876, #2879, #2955, #2957, #2961, #3033.

Validation: 25 current event/network source tests passed; earlier focused browser lanes passed 201 source tests and 176 boundary tests with two skips, plus 35 Python tests. Real browser/Windows lanes were not rerun. Playwright allocation before admission remains unbounded by these retention limits.

morluto d4bd65c53c fix(providers)!: preserve readiness, coverage, and diagnostic ownership
Share tagged readiness observations, retain partial provider facts, authenticate bridge identity, bound diagnostics, and preserve cancellation and lost-session reasons. Fail closed for unparsed MIPS ABI attributes and macOS saved Hopper databases without a script-capable bridge route.

Reviewed fixes: #2010, #2108, #2513, #2695, #2731, #2771, #2828, #2867, #2868, #2870, #2880, #2919, #2945, #2961, #2981, #2998, #3000, #3002.

Validation: 285 focused source/boundary tests passed. Real Ghidra, IDA, Linux Hopper, and Windows provider runs were not repeated.

BREAKING CHANGE: MIPS targets with unresolved GNU ABI attributes and saved Hopper databases on macOS are refused rather than advertised as supported.

feat(native): search analyzed memory for masked byte patterns (#2341)
* feat(native): search analyzed memory for masked byte patterns

The diff adds search_bytes to the CLI, the shared MCP contract, Ghidra
inventory, and the headless bridge, and advertises the same operation on
Hopper as unavailable until that provider is verified. Patterns are
hexadecimal byte pairs with optional ?? wildcards and an optional
equal-length bit mask; the TypeScript boundary and the bridge both
require a nonempty pattern, equal lengths, and at least one constrained
bit. Ghidra walks initialized blocks in address order within inclusive
bounds, keeps overlapping matches inside a single block, and returns
each hit with its segment, unique source file offset, and containing
procedure, continuing through a cursor bound to the target, profile,
pattern, mask, and bounds. Each page reports the inclusive ranges
examined and the skipped uninitialized blocks; cancellation returns a
typed error and discards the active Ghidra database.
address_to_file_offset now uses the same unique-offset helper, which
rejects a mapping that is missing, ambiguous, or larger than a safe
integer.

* fix(native): limit unbounded byte search to loaded memory

Without start or end, search_bytes walked every Ghidra block, including
non-loaded file parts such as .symtab and overlay blocks, which the docs
call out of scope. Unbounded searches now skip those blocks and list them
in searched.skipped_not_loaded; explicit bounds in their address space
still search them. Document that a match must end at or before end.

* fix(native): preserve implicit address spaces in range consumers

* fix(native): reject present malformed byte search state

fix(ghidra): warn when callee/caller reads stop at a truncated function body (#2360)
procedure_callees and procedure_callers returned a bare address list, so an
inferred no-return call that truncates Ghidra's function body silently dropped
real edges (fixes #2326). Wrap both views in the function-observation envelope
with noReturnCallLimitations, matching procedure_info, procedure_assembly,
procedure_pseudo_code, read_function_instructions, and analyze_function
(precedent: 69a8b3a95). Version the boundary-observation contract to
ghidra-terminal-call-limitations-v2 so older snapshots cannot replay
unqualified results.

Validation: red->green unit test for the envelope requirement, MCP boundary
evidence test extended for both views (limitations retained through Evidence
and snapshot replay), 8 harness test files + ghidra behavior tests green,
check:fast, docs:check, verify:test-discovery green. Real Ghidra host lane
unavailable here (no Ghidra installed); Java change mirrors the existing

feat(ghidra): decode Swift String literals in function dossiers (#2049)
* feat(ghidra): decode Swift String literals in function dossiers

Swift passes a String as two words. Small literals keep their UTF-8 bytes
inside those words, and immortal large literals keep a count plus a pointer
to their bytes biased by 32. Ghidra creates no data reference for either, so
analyze_function reported no strings for Swift code.

On AArch64 programs that contain Swift metadata, the Ghidra bridge now runs
constant propagation over the function and decodes register pairs where
Swift consumes a String: consecutive argument registers at calls and tail
calls, x0 and x1 at returns, and both registers of one STP. Large literals
must resolve to terminated bytes inside one initialized block that is not
executable. A pair whose registers both come from conditional selects is
skipped, because Ghidra forks each select without correlating the
condition and could otherwise pair words from different cases.

Decoded values are a derivation from the ABI layout rather than observed
references, so they appear in a new optional swift_string_literals field
with their source instruction, registers and raw words, and in a matching
inspect_analysis_view facet. referenced_strings is unchanged.

Refs #2030

* fix(ghidra): bound Swift literal reads and compare decoded strings

Large immortal literals are measured against the remaining heap before
allocation, and a failed fit stays visible as a limitation. The canonical
empty string is kept. Small and large literals now require matching
address nullability, and function comparison treats decoded literals as
string evidence without equating a missing record to an empty one.

* fix(ghidra): budget Swift literal decoding and tighten use sites

Large literals now draw on one heap budget per dossier, measured once
before decoding, instead of a separate check per literal. A literal that
does not fit is listed in a new swift_string_literal_omissions field
with its address, byte length and reason, so consumers read omissions
from structured data rather than from limitation text.

strings_names comparison checks referenced strings and names first and
reports a change there even when Swift literal coverage differs; it
returns unknown only when those facts match and literal coverage is
absent on one side or partial.

A computed jump counts as a tail call only when it has no resolved
target inside the function, so jump tables no longer qualify, and a
return requires a RETURN p-code operation, so traps no longer qualify.

Decoded literals keep control characters, which Swift strings may
contain and JSON escapes. The Swift verifier builds the literal fixture
for arm64 on any Mac host and now also covers the empty string and a
literal containing a tab.

* fix(ghidra): charge escaped JSON and follow copied selects

The Swift literal budget now charges the worst case per UTF-8 byte: UTF-16
text, six escaped JSON characters held in Gson's growing buffer and in the
returned String, and the UTF-8 bytes written to the socket. Literals made
of control characters can no longer exceed the reserved heap.

A jump counts as a tail call only when every resolved target lies outside
the function. The conditional select check follows register copies back
to their definition, so selects copied into argument registers are
recognized like selects written there directly.

strings_names reports a change when both dossiers decoded different
literals at the same use site, even when either side has omissions; it
returns unknown only when no such use site disagrees.

* fix(ghidra): bound literal records and trace selects across branches

Every Swift literal record now pays a fixed cost against the dossier
budget in addition to its text, so many empty or small literals are
bounded as well. The first record that does not fit is kept as an
omission and decoding stops there, which keeps the omission record
itself bounded; omissions now describe small or large literals.

The conditional select check searches every predecessor path for the
reaching definitions, following register copies, so selects made
before a branch into the use block are recognized.

A dossier records Swift literals and their omissions together. Coverage
reads omissions first, and strings_names compares every use site that
neither side omitted: a decoded literal is known where it was recorded,
and an absence is known only in a dossier whose decoding examined every
use site.

* fix(ghidra): stop every flow at the literal budget and route omissions

Ending one flow from the evaluator leaves other queued flows running, so
the budget now records a shared stop that every flow checks before it
examines another instruction. A record that exceeds the budget is routed
by that capacity result rather than by whether text was decoded, so a
small literal over budget becomes an omission instead of a literal.

When coverage is partial, the per site comparison keeps each literal's
representation as well as its value, matching the full strings_names
projection.

* fix(ghidra): keep unresolved Swift tail-call sites unknown

morluto 4a4d36f881 fix(evidence): retain unreadable PE and Darwin process facts
Distinguish absent CLI directories from unreadable directory counts and truncated slots while preserving known PE headers and readable CLI data.

Retain environment-entry coverage in the Darwin parser and classify restricted empty, unavailable and ambiguous environments at the native boundary. Keep cleanup fail-closed; code-signing flags do not establish ownership.

Validation: 116 managed source tests, 13 ownership tests, native Swift parser probe and two live Darwin run-token tests; build, static checks and docs checks pass. Restricted-flag cases use parser fixtures; no real restricted capture is claimed. Related to #2035.

feat(ghidra): admit soft-float MIPS32r2 ELF with integer-register float storage (#1949)
* feat(ghidra): admit soft-float MIPS32r2 ELF with integer-register float storage

Soft-float o32 executables (Linux kernel builds, bare-metal firmware) were
refused because their ABI flags record declares no CPR1 and FP ABI 3.
Ghidra's MIPS32 compiler specifications model only hard-float o32, so typed
float/double signatures (DWARF) would be bound to $f12/$f14/$f0 and the
decompiler loses the real dataflow: `return sel ? a : b` decompiled to
`return in_f0;`, and callers passed phantom FPU inputs.

Admit ELF32 ET_EXEC o32 MIPS32r2 targets whose ABI record declares soft-float
with no CPR1, and commit `mips_soft_float_storage: o32-integer-registers-v1`
in their analysis profile only (hard-float profile digests are unchanged).
ReaGhidraMipsSoftFloat.java runs after auto-analysis and, for each function
with a float/double formal type, either keeps the types with the storage
Ghidra's o32 model assigns to a same-size integer (pair alignment, stack
spill), or, for auto-parameters such as hidden struct-return pointers, swaps
float types for same-size integers under dynamic storage. No function is left
on hard-float storage. The report is written last; the provider client
requires it exactly when the profile commits the policy and refuses the
session before any operation otherwise.

Verification: real Ghidra 12.1.4 lane (verify:ghidra:mips) now builds
hard- and soft-float fixtures in both byte orders and checks exact
parameter/return storage through inspect_native_api, caller constants,
snapshot profile and Evidence outcome; test:fast, verify:package and an
installed-tarball soft-float run pass.

* fix(ghidra): model soft-float MIPS as a prototype for every typed callable

Review feedback on #1949: rewriting storage per Function left external
functions and indirect calls through typed function pointers on Ghidra's
hard-float o32 prototype, which still read $f12/$f14/$f0 while the session
reported success. A negative control confirms it: without the change,
`(*rea_mips_soft_callback)(8.5f, 9.5f, sel)` decompiles to
`(*rea_mips_soft_callback)(in_f12, in_f14, sel)`.

ReaGhidraMipsSoftFloat.java now derives a `__rea_soft_float` prototype from
the program's own default o32 model (encoded, float pentries and
float-consuming rules removed, so byte-order-specific aggregate rules and the
hidden struct-return pointer are kept), installs it as a specification
extension, and assigns it with dynamic storage to every non-thunk function,
external function and function-pointer definition whose formal types use
float or double. Thunks follow their targets. Float types are kept
everywhere, so the integer-retype fallback is removed. The script fails
without writing its report if the derived prototype or any reassigned
function still uses an FPU register.

The policy becomes `o32-soft-float-prototype-v1` with a
{functions, definitions} report. The soft-float fixture adds an indirect
call through a typed pointer; the real-Ghidra lane requires its constants
with no FPU inputs and the struct return's `float scale` in $a1.

* test(ghidra): pin ODDSPREG acceptance for soft-float MIPS ABI records

Review on #1949 suggested requiring flags1 == 0 for soft-float, since MIPS_AFL_FLAGS1_ODDSPREG names CPR1 registers. GCC 5.2 kernel modules, LLVM/Rust firmware and Clang -msoft-float objects all record flags1 = 1 with FP ABI soft-float: it is the MIPS32 o32 toolchain default and selects nothing without CPR1. Keep accepting it, say why at the check, and test that soft-float with ODDSPREG is admitted while any other general flag is refused.

fix(hopper): preserve startup failures and recover denied launches
Preserve the primary Hopper startup failure and launcher diagnostics while retaining resources when cleanup cannot be confirmed. Reauthenticate matching external application sessions before document cleanup, keep the Python bridge available for bounded reconnects, and expose the provider-owned Hopper startup deadline.

Real headless Linux Hopper semantic analysis and 65 focused configuration, handshake, cleanup, and bridge tests passed. macOS authorization/crash causes and saved-HOP behavior require their own real-provider verification.

* feat(ghidra): recover signed AArch64 relative jump tables

Generalise the AArch64 relative-table matcher to signed byte/halfword entries, UXTW indexes, byte or LSL #2 offsets, B.CS/B.HS bounds and a CBZ route for zero entries. Cross-check it against Ghidra's own load table when one exists, and add a fixture modelled on the RenderScript blend kernel.

feat(ghidra): configurable import language and analysis seeds (#1667)
* feat(ghidra): configurable import language and analysis seeds

REA_GHIDRA_LANGUAGE_ID and REA_GHIDRA_COMPILER_SPEC_ID set the import
language when the header cannot identify the compiler (for example,
Borland C++ PE images).

REA_GHIDRA_SEED_FILE seeds functions, code and labels before
auto-analysis, for code reached only through computed jumps or data.

Both are validated before launch, recorded in the analysis profile and
verified in the bridge handshake.

* fix(ghidra): parse language XML and preserve seed ordering

* test(ghidra): use explicit platform paths for seed launch checks

* fix(javascript): retain cleanup failure reason in error causes

morluto 69a8b3a954 fix(ghidra): expose terminal-call boundary assumptions
Preserve observed terminal-call sites and callee flags across function views, raw bridge responses, Evidence, and snapshot replay. Version analysis profiles so older unqualified results cannot be reused.

Qualify Ghidra function extents without changing external no-return flags or claiming recovery of excluded code.

Validation: 76 focused tests, check:fast, docs:check, formatting, and the full Ghidra 12.1.4 host lane pass. Real CLI and all five stdio MCP function views retain the terminal-call evidence; returning puts calls remain unflagged. The reported stripped Rust ELF and Windows host remain unverified.

morluto aa7c5b7b5e fix(ghidra): reject address names owned by another symbol
Check function and label ownership in the existing namespace before renaming. Keep same-address renames idempotent and reject duplicate batch members inside their individual transactions. Extend real-provider namespace checks for single and batch collisions without conflating function and label fixture names.

Validation: real Ghidra 12.1.4 host-native verification passed on macOS ARM64 with JDK 21.0.12.1, including public CLI/stdIO MCP, qualified-name round trips, rollback, source-byte immutability, and complete cleanup. Windows mutation authority remains unchanged.

feat(ghidra): admit set_address_name and set_addresses_names (#1635)
* feat(ghidra): admit set_address_name and set_addresses_names

Ghidra sessions rejected the existing naming tools with "operation is not declared by this provider", so agents had to use annotate_native_function, which returns a complete function dossier per rename and cannot name data addresses.

The Java bridge now names a local function entry (namespace-aware, like annotate_native_function) or creates/renames the primary label at any other mapped address, verifying readback. set_addresses_names applies each address in its own transaction and reports per-address booleans. Both are mutating capabilities: excluded from read-only (Windows P0) handshakes and from snapshot replay.

* fix(ghidra): normalize qualified symbol names and reject empty leaves

Share namespace-aware leaf normalization across functions and primary labels. Invalid qualified leaves now return false for naming operations without marking the provider unavailable; function annotations retain typed invalid-input errors.

Extend real CLI/MCP namespace verification with namespaced globals, readback replay, failed-name rollback, mixed batches, and capability checks.

Validation: 75 focused tests and npm run check pass. Ghidra 12.1.4/JDK 21 namespace verification passes on macOS arm64 with unchanged source bytes and complete cleanup. The full host lane passes this workflow before the existing entry-alias fixture fails because the compiler places its interior label at the function entry.

fix(ghidra): clear wrong no-return flags before serving a session (#1419)
* fix(ghidra): clear wrong no-return flags before serving a session

Auto-analysis can flag ordinary functions as no-return (stream readers,
__cxa_guard_acquire, ...). Their callers then end at the call and the
decompiler truncates them. Run a postScript before the bridge that clears the
flag on functions containing a real RET and re-disassembles the call sites that
were terminators.

* fix(ghidra): refit in place and scope no-return call-site repair

Keep function types by refitting the owning functions with fixupFunctionBody
instead of removing and recreating them. Only redo call sites whose callee was
actually cleared (including thunks to it), skip sites followed by a function
start or x86 padding so real end calls do not run on, and always log the result.

morluto a4ba8aecd5 fix(contracts)!: require observed provider output metadata
Reject omitted segment bounds, procedure classification and body facts, unresolved-call observations, dossier facets, and Ghidra parameter flow metadata. Providers emit explicit nulls for unsupported facets. Verify those unknowns in the real Hopper workflow.

BREAKING CHANGE: Provider analysis outputs must explicitly supply metadata previously repaired with defaults; unsupported nullable facets must be reported as null.

perf(hopper): resolve string search records once per query (#1229)
* perf(hopper): resolve string search records once per query

search_strings called _string_inventory(document) once per match, and each
call sorts every string address and rebuilds the record dict, so a query cost
O(matches x strings log strings). Resolve the inventory once per search.
Warm search, 50% matches, fake document, best of 7: 1000 strings 186 -> 0.5 ms,
4000 strings 3161 -> 2.1 ms, 8000 strings 13121 -> 4.9 ms; output byte-identical.

* perf(hopper): skip record resolution for empty string searches

Resolving the full string inventory for a query with no matches added a sort
of every string address that the previous code never performed. Return early
when nothing matches. Zero-match search on a warm document, best of 7:
64000 strings 35.9 ms before this change, 4.0 ms after (main: 3.9 ms).
