bflatastic b8793eeaef M3.97: freeform points drag out to delete, spread ring drags, Lines mode draws lines
With the Gradient tool on a freeform gradient the selected point shows its
spread as a dashed ring with a handle; dragging either sets the spread. A
point dragged out of the object is removed on release, and double-clicking a
point opens the gradientStop popover, which now edits the selected freeform
point (colour, opacity, spread). In Lines mode successive clicks draw one
smooth line (with a rubber band to the pointer); clicking an existing point
continues the line from it, and Escape or a click off the art ends it.

bflatastic b79262d4f4 M3.64: Width tool depth: Width Point Edit, multi-select, Alt-copy and discontinuous points
Double-clicking a width point opens Width Point Edit (Side 1, Side 2, Total Width, a link
keeping the sides equal, Adjust Adjoining Width Points, Delete; dialog `widthPoint`, also
`ui.widthPointEdit`). Shift-click selects several width points, which drag and widen together
as one undo step; Alt-dragging a point's centre copies it (`stroke.widthPoint.copy`); dropping a
point onto another makes a discontinuous point (two points at the same t), and the stroke's
width steps there. `stroke.widthPoint.set` takes `adjustAdjoining`, keeps a discontinuous point
when only its widths change, and `stroke.widthPoint.remove` takes `indices`. Flipping a profile
along the path swaps the sides of its steps; `document.inspect` reports `widthPoints`.

bflatastic fcc0f4ca0f M3.79: Edit or Apply Color Group opens Recolor Artwork on a colour group
Double-clicking a colour group's folder in the Swatches panel, or the options
button (Edit or Apply Color Group) while a group is selected, opens Recolor
Artwork on the group: without art the rows are the group's colours and OK
rewrites the group; with art selected the art is reduced to the group's size,
takes its colours, and art and group change in one undo step. New
swatch.editGroup {group, colors, rename?} rewrites a group in order (art linked
to its global swatches follows); recolor.apply takes group, groupColors and
rename.

bflatastic fca068a0a7 M3.78: Recolor Artwork with colour reduction, methods, presets and Limit to Library
Recolor Artwork keys colours by identity (model and exact values), so CMYK
colours stay CMYK and lookalikes stay apart. recolor.reduce groups the
selection's colours into rows (k-means in Lab, weighted by use; tints of a
global swatch share its row) with Preserve White/Black/Grays and Limit to
Library; recolor.apply maps rows by Exact, Preserve Tints, Scale Tints, Tints
and Shades or Hue Shift; recolor.randomize shuffles or varies new colours.
The dialog has Assign (rows with merge, separate, exclude, randomize, method,
library) and Edit (hue/saturation wheel with linked or unlinked handles,
brightness, harmony rules) tabs, and Edit Colors gains Recolor with Preset
(1/2/3 Color Job, Color Library). Colour parameters accept colour keys.

bflatastic 65f0f34cd3 M3.67: Use Preview Bounds measures strokes in transforms, the bounding box and Align
With Use Preview Bounds on, the Transform panel, Properties and Control bar
X/Y/W/H, the Selection tool's bounding box, Align, Distribute and
Distribute Spacing measure visual bounds (the whole stroke). setBounds sets
the visual box, scaling the path so that kept or scaled strokes land on
the typed size. object.align/distribute/distributeSpacing take
bounds?: "preview"|"geometric"; the Align flyout item shows and toggles the
preference through prefs.set.

bflatastic 5afc78a100 M3.66: Scale Strokes & Effects scales dashes and effect distances; Scale Corners works
Scaling with Scale Strokes & Effects on now scales stroke weights, dash
lengths and dash offsets and every distance parameter of object, fill and
stroke effects (groups and layers too), from new length metadata in the
effects catalogue. Off, nothing painted changes size and type keeps its
character strokes' weight. Scale Corners off keeps live corner radii.
object.scale/transform/transformEach take strokes?/corners? (default: the
preferences) and journal the values they used. The Scale dialog and a new
Transform Each dialog get both checkboxes, kept as the preferences on OK;
the panels' toggles go through prefs.set.

bflatastic ea61d34a93 M3.85: spot colours defined in Lab, with Spot Colors options for Lab values or CMYK equivalents
Colours gain a CIE Lab model (`Color::Lab {l,a,b}`, serde tag `lab`), handled through the
CMS (display, separation, conversions, gamut), tints (toward paper white), keep_model, harmonies,
recolouring, blends, Info and the Color panel. Swatch Options gets a Lab mode
(`swatch.edit {mode: "lab"}` / `{color: {l,a,b}}`), and colour params accept `{l,a,b}`.

Swatches panel → Spot Colors… (`ui.spotColors`, dialog `spotColors`) runs `swatch.spotOptions
{useLab}` (Document.spot_use_lab, default on): Lab spot colours show and separate from their Lab
values, or art linked to them takes their working-CMYK equivalents, as one undo step. PDF export
writes Lab spot inks as Separation spaces with a Lab alternate (tint function from paper white),
or a DeviceCMYK one with CMYK equivalents.

bflatastic 4591c85845 M3.76: Attributes panel with overprint, centre point, path direction, fill rule, image map, URL and note
Window > Attributes (Cmd+F11) shows Overprint Fill/Stroke, Show/Don't Show
Center, Reverse Path Direction Off/On, the non-zero / even-odd fill rule,
Image Map, a URL field with recent URLs and a Browser button, and a note.
New commands attributes.set and path.setFillRule; path.reverse takes ids and
reversed; attributes.info reports every value. Objects keep the attributes in
Node.attrs. SVG export wraps linked objects in <a>, and import reads links
back. The canvas draws the centre point of selected objects that show it.

bflatastic 705976fd96 M3.84: Object > Expand dialog; gradient fills expand to a mesh or N objects
Object > Expand… opens a purpose-built dialog (Object, Fill and Stroke
checkboxes, disabled when the selection has nothing for them; Expand
Gradient To: Gradient Mesh or Specify N Objects, default 255). Every
option now does something:
- Object: type to outlines, live shapes to paths, effects baked.
- Stroke: strokes outlined into filled paths.
- Fill: linear/radial gradient fills become N solid rectangles or
concentric ellipses, or a gradient mesh with lines where the colour
changes, inside a clip group shaped like the object; freeform
gradients become a mesh shaped like the object. Colours keep their
stops' colour model. With Fill off gradient fills stay live.
object.expand {} defaults match the dialog (stroke now defaults on);
new query object.expand.info and UI command ui.expandDialog.
Create Gradient Mesh on a gradient-filled object takes the colours the
gradient paints at each point (GradientMesh::for_path_with, from_grid,
highlight).

bflatastic 874a287958 M3.80: graphic style libraries in the library panel, with .vcstyles save and load
Window > Graphic Style Libraries and the Graphic Styles panel's library button open
read-only libraries of original styles generated in code (Shadows and Glows, Outlines
and Rules, Hand-Drawn, Gradient Finishes, Shape Effects, Blends and Transparency) in
the shared library panel. Clicking a style adds it and applies it to the selection as
one undo step (Alt: on top). Save Graphic Style Library writes .vcstyles JSON (styles
unlinked from swatches, with the patterns they paint with) to the user library folder
(User Defined) or a file; Other Library loads one, or another document's styles.

Commands: graphicStyle.libraries, graphicStyle.library, graphicStyle.addFromLibrary,
graphicStyle.saveLibrary, graphicStyle.loadLibrary; UI: window.graphicStyleLibrary
(.other), ui.saveGraphicStyleLibrary, window.userGraphicStyleLibrary1-10. The user and
loaded library bookkeeping is shared with swatch libraries.

bflatastic 953024cc35 M3.94: Window > Flattener Preview shows what flattening would rasterize, outline and change
flattener.preview {highlight, overprints?, preset?|options?, ids?} reports, without changing the
document, the transparent and affected objects, patterns, outlined strokes and type, rasterized
complex regions, all rasterized areas and flat-colour regions (FlattenReport, worked out by the
flattener's own plan without rendering images). The panel previews a snapshot taken on Refresh,
greyed with the chosen highlight in red, zoomable (click, Alt-click, drag, double-click); its
Overprints, preset and options (Show Options) set how it flattens, and its menu saves them as a
preset. ui.flattenerPreview drives it; the settings persist with the UI state.

bflatastic b2ececc7b4 M3.59: tints of global and spot colours, tint swatches and Global colour balance
A colour linked to a global or spot swatch keeps a tint (Paint::Solid.tint, 1 by default and
left out of files at 100 %): paint.setFill/setStroke {swatch, tint} apply the swatch at that
percentage, swatch edits recolour every linked colour at its own tint, and Color::tinted
resolves it (CMYK and Gray inks scale, RGB mixes toward white). swatch.new saves a tint as a
tint swatch ("Ink 40%") linked to its base. Spot tints separate as that percentage of their
plate (Separations Preview, PDF Separation value) instead of an ink-ratio guess. Adjust Color
Balance's Global mode (tint) shifts the tints of linked colours. The Color panel shows Tint
mode (the swatch chip, its name and a T slider) for linked colours; the Swatches panel
highlights the tint swatch in use. Gradient stops get the same link and tint fields (the
swatch walks cover them), so GradientStop is no longer Copy.

Applies trees (transparency; focal fill colour, transparency, overprint;
focal stroke colour, transparency, overprint, weight, cap, join, miter,
dash; character and paragraph attributes). The options live in the
preferences (Prefs::eyedropper, eyedropper.setOptions, prefs key
eyedropper) and replace the earlier appearance/transparency switches.

appearance.copyFrom takes pickUp/apply overrides, reverse (Alt-click:

bflatastic 2e6662c93b M3.51: Fill/Stroke chips open swatch and mixer popovers; panel shortcuts; Recolor quick action
The Control bar and Properties Fill/Stroke chips show the proxies' paints
("?" for mixed selections) and open a popover with the Swatches panel body
(Shift-click or the toggle: the Color panel's mixer); a click brings the
chip's proxy forward through paint.toggleActive {fill}. The Properties
panel offers Recolor for multi-colour selections. Window panel shortcuts

Shift+F5, Stroke Cmd+F10, Gradient Cmd+F9, Transparency Shift+Cmd+F10)
run window.panel {panel}, show in the Window menu and are editable.

bflatastic 3c856caa65 M14.2: custom title bar on Windows and Linux
The window is undecorated off macOS and the app bar is the title bar: Minimize,
Maximize/Restore and Close caption buttons (46 pt, drawn in code, Close hover red)

maximize, and 5 pt invisible edge/corner zones resize it (off while maximized or

the search box becomes an icon at narrow widths, so nothing overlaps at 800 pt.
macOS and the web build are unchanged.

bflatastic f21161ce8c M3.27: Color Picker dialog — double-clicking a Fill/Stroke proxy (toolbar, Color, Swatches, Properties) or ui.colorPicker {stroke?, color?} opens a colour field with an H/S/B/R/G/B channel slider, HSB/RGB/Lab/CMYK fields and hex, Only Web Colors, out-of-gamut (corrected through color.convert) and out-of-web warnings, New/Original chips and a Color Swatches list; OK runs paint.setFill / paint.setStroke (CMYK in CMYK documents)

bflatastic 3786cfaf36 M3.17: interactive gradient annotator — drag the start handle or the bar to move the gradient, the end handle to change length and angle, just past the end to rotate (Shift snaps to 45°); a bar click adds a stop, stops drag along the bar, off it to delete (never below two), Alt-drag copies, diamonds move midpoints; a click inside selected art applies the gradient from that point; double-clicking a stop opens a popover (Color/Swatches, Opacity, Location); the selected stop lives in the session (gradient.selectStop), shared by the tool, the Gradient and Color panels and agents, and takes Delete/Backspace and ←/→ ahead of their shortcuts (Tool::claims_key, also headless); stop chips draw as Overlay::Swatch with generated add/remove-stop cursors; the stop math moves into the color crate

bflatastic 7da0bfb1c6 M3.13: New Swatch and New Color Group dialogs — New Swatch reuses the Swatch Options fields prefilled from the active colour (its default name follows the colour), goes into the selected colour group, Alt-click skips it and Cmd/Ctrl makes a spot colour; New Color Group makes a group from the selected swatches or the selected artwork's colours, optionally as global swatches the art links to and with swatches for tints
swatch.new takes mode and group; swatch.newGroup takes fromArtwork, toGlobal and includeTints and reports the group's swatches and the paints it linked. Adds a shared radio widget and the ui.newSwatch / ui.newColorGroup openers.

bflatastic 3082be6ecf M3.12: delete swatches and colour groups — Shift/Cmd-click selects several swatches and groups in the panel, Delete asks first (Alt-click skips), swatch.delete {names} removes them in one undo step and art using a deleted global swatch keeps its colour, unlinked
Adds a shared confirmation dialog (`confirm`) that runs a command on OK.

bflatastic d272d32be3 M3.11: Swatch Options — double-click, the options button or the menu item opens a colour swatch's editor (name, process/spot, Global, Gray/RGB/HSB/CMYK/Web sliders, hex) with a live canvas preview; gradients open the Gradient panel and patterns pattern editing; swatch.edit recolours and renames every linked fill, stroke and text run in one undo step, spot forces Global, grouped swatches edit too; swatch.list query
ui.dialog.cancel over the control channel now rolls back a dialog's live preview.

bflatastic 7bc50901e4 M4.13: review fixes — template sublayers are left out of raster exports too (the check moves into draw_arc), Export Selection skips art under a template layer at any depth, Export for Screens drops @Nx suffixes on SVG/PDF rows, names files without case clashes and calls an unnamed artboard Artboard-N, oversized raster exports are refused instead of writing empty files, a named MCP artboard/range replaces the option picks, and control app.export without a path returns dataBase64 instead of opening a save dialog

bflatastic 45a7302601 M4.13: export correctness and MCP export parity — document.export/serialize honour artboard, artboards or range ("1-3, 5") for PDF (one page per artboard) and return dataBase64 without a path; Export for Screens writes one page per PDF, ignores scale and @Nx suffixes for vector formats, names duplicate artboards -2/-3 and returns bytes without a folder; raster exports, thumbnails and Export Selection leave template layers out (RenderOptions.skip_templates); file.exportForScreens with params runs the engine; the MCP export tool takes artboard/range/options, lists formats from the engine and never retargets the document; CLI convert --range

bflatastic 4d503c0327 M4.12: one loader and encoder for every frontend — engine fileio (load/encode/export/save, append-only FORMATS table, OPEN_EXTS, document.formats query, typed per-format options, parse_range); document.open reads native/legacy, SVG/SVGZ, PDF/.ai, .ait (opens untitled like native templates) and PNG/JPEG/GIF/WebP/TIFF/BMP; desktop, web, control channel, headless MCP and the CLI open and encode through it; open dialogs list "All readable files" plus one filter per format

bflatastic 62681d2b80 Docs: README names the Illustrator habits that now work (corner widget dragging, Alt-click pivot on an anchor, middle-mouse pan, save prompt before closing); control protocol: file.close / closeAll / app.quit open a saveChanges dialog per modified document and how agents answer it 2026-10-04 00:55:55 +07:00
Brandon Thomas 4878f1c5dd Rename DrawCraft → VectorCraft: crates (vectorcraft-*), apps, binaries, types, env vars, docs, examples (.vectorcraft); old .drawcraft files and preferences still load. Fix: text bounds exact after opening a file; selection no longer marks a document modified (dirty = content differs from the saved document). Screenshots and renders regenerated.
